There are two seasonal full-time positions open with the Oregon Department of Forestry located at the Tillamook Forest Center. These seasonal positions generally work from mid-March through early September or early May through November.

The Tillamook Forest Center is a visitor center located on the Wilson River on Highway 6 in the Oregon Coast Range, about an hour’s drive west of downtown Portland and 30 minutes east of Tillamook.

These positions conduct interpretive and education programs for a wide range of audiences leading programs at the Tillamook Forest Center and in other locations. These positions involve the discussion of harvesting and managing the forest for a balance of social, environmental and economic values. During program sessions and interactions with the public, these positions are responsible for ensuring a safe, quality experience for participants and visitors, coordinating any necessary program logistics, and assessing overall effectiveness of activities. Quality customer service and team work are essential parts of the job.
