As part of the newly combined Land Stewardship Division, this position will bring together the best of our park maintenance practice, our commitment to design excellence, our horticultural knowledge and our ecological expertise. The East Side Lands Manager oversees all land management and stewardship activities east of the Willamette River.

The incumbent accomplishes this in partnership with a large number of Friends groups, neighborhood groups, and non-profit organizations whose missions align with our own… Nearly 150 developed parks on the east side provide places and spaces to picnic and play, recharge and recreate, and to build community in a rapidly diversifying and densifying city.

The position is responsible for land management practices which facilitate a range of uses from intense and active recreation, to habitat preservation and protection, and everything in between… The East Side Lands Stewardship Manager will report to the Lands Stewardship Manager and manage 5 operations supervisors. These 5 supervisors manage a team of 45 staff including ecologists, horticulturalist, botanic and park technicians, along with a large cohort of seasonal maintenance workers.
