Description

Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) is currently recruiting for one (1) permanent, full-time PLANNER 3 (Coastal Shores Specialist) position in Newport, Oregon.

This position exists in the Ocean/Coastal Services Division (OCSD) which includes two programs: 1) the federally approved Oregon Coastal Management Program (OCMP) (see federal Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, as amended); and, 2) the Oregon Ocean Resources Management Program (ORS 196.405 to ORS 196.515.)

The program addresses land and water resources and uses in the geographic area of the Oregon coastal zone, the area west of the crest of the Coast Range to the seaward extent (3 nautical miles) of the state’s territorial sea.  The program affects the activities and decisions of coastal planners, city, county and special district elected officials, state and federal environmental and regulatory staff, and private individuals who may be affected by land-use actions.  Particular issues and actions may affect the media, interest groups, and interested citizens.  Management decisions affecting Oregon’s coastal and ocean resources can ultimately affect all Oregonians.

The Planner 3 classification is in salary range 30, which includes nine steps from $4,674 to $6,833 per month.  A new hire to the State of Oregon in this position could expect an initial starting salary of $4,674 to $5,654 monthly based on their qualifications, experience and prior salary. In addition to salary, the state offers excellent benefits including health insurance and retirement plans. DLCD also offers a flexible work environment that recognizes the work-life balance.  For more information, click the Benefits tab on the job posting.
