The Sustainability Program Specialist is part of the UNCG Office of Sustainability and is responsible for education and outreach, communications, program and project coordination, and administrative activities. Those activities include:

  • Education and Outreach – develop and implement comprehensive education and outreach programs for various environmental and sustainability issues and give presentations to faculty, staff, student, and community groups in classroom and community settings;
  • Communications – create and distribute graphic and narrative marketing and communication materials including the Sustainability Office website, posters, flyers, and social media;
  • Program and Project Coordination – create and deliver projects run by the Sustainability Office that support sustainability, advise students on sustainability related projects that use the campus as a laboratory of sustainable practices, coordinate participation in campus and community activities to build awareness and engagement, and serve as advisor to and administrative support for the UNCG student Green Fund;
  • Administrative – support the Sustainability Office in its day-to- day operations, supervision of student employees and interns, fundraising for sustainability efforts on campus, operation of the Sustainability Council, and annual reporting.

The Program Specialist reports to the Sustainability Coordinator for Operations within the Facilities Department and partners heavily with the UNCGSustainability Council and faculty Academic Coordinator for Sustainability.
