Issues that have been priorities recently (and often continue to be) include:

  • Growth Management Act / land use / urban sprawl
  • Shorelines Master Plan / shorelines regulations
  • Shellfish Aquaculture in Puget Sound
  • Biodiversity Management Areas conservation in the Lower White River area
  • Funding for open spaces and parks, and policies that support creation and maintenance
  • Climate Change policies and regulations
  • coal trains/export
  • Crude oil trains, transport and terminals & protecting estuaries
  • agriculture preservation in Pierce County, ARL zoning, and floodplains by design
  • plastic shopping bag ban ordinance in Tacoma
  • Methanol plant at Port of Tacoma
  • Mud Mountain Dam fish passage project
  • Lake Kapowsin Aquatic Reserve proposal
