Seattle Tilth Farm Programs supports farmers, farming communities, and farmland preservation through projects and partnerships that address obstacles, barriers and challenges facing organic and sustainable farmers across the State of Washington. Our programs teach organic practices that support the environment and successful farm businesses by providing education and resources to farmers of all skill levels – youth, beginning, and experienced – through classroom and hands‐on learning, as well as technical assistance and farmer-to-farmer mentorship.

Seattle Tilth Farm Works (STFW) is an educational farm incubator program that provides farmland, education, business and production support, and market access to beginning farmers with a focus on immigrants, refugees and people with limited financial resources in King County. Working in close collaboration with the STFW Farm and Education Manager, the STFW Farm Operations Coordinator is responsible for production, education and technical assistance to support STFW participants, the STFW production plot, and the STFW program administration. The Farm Operations Coordinator will lead the planning and maintenance of STFW program production plots and provide technical assistance to program participants through activities such as seeding, transplanting, ground preparation, irrigation, propagation, weeding, harvesting, livestock management, and post- harvest handling. This support includes collaborating with STFW participants and Seattle Tilth Produce food hub staff to coordinate fresh sheets and harvest quality to fill weekly CSA, wholesale and farm stand orders.

The Farm Operations coordinator will assist with other program needs, including overall farm grounds and facilities maintenance, budget and participant tracking, and delivery of the 20-week farm education program and intern training curriculum. If you are a self-directed individual who has knowledge and experience in organic and sustainable farming techniques, coordinating weekly harvests for diverse customers, developing and delivering internship curriculum, and managing farm operations for diversified vegetable production in the Pacific Northwest, then this is the job for you. Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a clean driving record, are required. A BS or BA in a related field and demonstrated success working with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds is preferred.
