Inland Northwest Land Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Founded in 1991, INLC has been mission driven for 25 years and counting. To date, INLC has helped landowners to preserve 15,000 acres of land in the Inland Northwest. INLC believes that preservation through conservation keeps water resources clean and flowing, agricultural lands working, and forests healthy, thus supporting the health of wildlife and wild places for future generations. INLC operates under the vision that conserving our region’s water, wildlife habitat, and working farms and forests is vital for the success of our shared community.
The ideal Executive Director candidate will be thoroughly committed to the Inland Northwest Land Conservancy mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for INLC staff, programs and execution of mission. The ED will oversee fundraising for INLC, including approving budgets and setting priorities which determine private and public fundraising goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Constituency Building, Fundraising & Donor Relations

Nurture major donor relationships

Oversee all annual gift and major donor appeals

Foster relationships with funders and grant makers
-
Create and promote INLC’s value proposition

Conservation, Protection & Stewardship
-
Work with partners to participate in land and water conservation
-
Work with community leaders to promote a conservation ethic
-
Oversee development and implementation of conservation plan
-

Public Relations, Community Relations, Communications
-
Serve as primary spokesperson for INLC

Attend to brand, image and reputation of INLC

Increase the visibility and community awareness of INLC
-

Organizational Management & Development
-
Ensure compliance with all legal requirements of 501(c)(3) status

Maintain effective and productive partnership with board
-
Lead staff to achieve defined performance expectations
-
Create and consistently monitor annual budget
-
Develop benchmarks toward strategic goals and monitor progress

Key Qualifications
Concrete, demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
-
Advanced degree or 5-plus years of experience in a non-profit organization working in development or executive capacity
-
Commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
-
Past success working with a Board of Directors
-
Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
-
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
