JOB DESCRIPTION

LSA’s Riverside office is seeking a student intern to assist the Climate Change Group in the preparation of Greenhouse Gas (GHG)/Climate Change analysis required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and preparation of Climate Action Plans (CAPs) and GHG Reduction Strategies. Good analytical skills and attention to detail; technical writing; and excellent communication skills are required.

This paid internship is anticipated to last 3 to 6 months. To be eligible for this program, candidates must be enrolled for the upcoming semester/quarter in an undergraduate program (upper division/senior-level) or a Master’s program pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering, Ecological Sciences or similar degree with an emphasis on sustainability or climate change.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Successful candidates will have experience in some or all of the following:

  • Experience in climate action planning work/GHG inventories.
  • Familiarity with various software and modeling tools used to develop GHG inventories.
  • Cost/benefit analysis of GHG reduction strategies.
  • Experience in climate change resiliency strategy development.
