We are actively seeking candidates for our Summer 2017 Team who are looking to take a break from the daily grind and step into the peaceful environment of one of the world’s oldest national parks.

 

Our operation features 2 separate areas within the Park – Rim Village and Mazama Village. We have 3 dining facilities, 3 retail outlets, a campground, cabins, and lodge. We also offer daily boat tours for our guests.

 

Southern Oregon offers diverse recreational opportunities for your days off – we have deserts, rainforests, mountains, marshes, and the Pacific Ocean is only a few hours away. Of course, the gem of the entire region is Crater Lake!

Responsibilities:

Summary: The Warehouse Crew is responsible for the timely receipt, storage, organization, and transportation of goods throughout Crater Lake National Park. Also responsible for removal of landfill waste and recycling; ensures cleanliness and upkeep of waste rooms and recycling areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Performs all duties with the ultimate goal of providing exemplary guest service.

-Performs all duties efficiently and with a sense of urgency.

-Assists with seasonal opening procedures at the beginning of the season.

-Participates in all required training.

-Follows Company guidelines for guest service; greets all guests with a smile.

-Maintains positive and professional communications with coworkers and managers at all times.

-This is a physically demanding job. Maintains consistent flow of products from receipt of inventory to delivery of merchandise to all areas including retail outlets, lodging, restaurants, laundry, etc.

-Receives, loads, and unloads multiple types of products and merchandise from shippers ranging from frozen foods to linens to retail products, etc.

-Accurately sorts and stores inventory in designated locations as directed and per manufacturer instructions.

-Maintains accurate logs and records to track and account for all goods as they are received and distributed.

-Inspects all goods as they are received to ensure they are in good and usable condition, that they are the proper quantity, and that they are correctly invoiced. Immediately notifies Purchasing Manager of any issues.

-Accurately fills and delivers orders as placed by staff through FoodTrak.

-Follows First In, First Out procedures at all times; ensures all products are rotated properly so that older items are used first.

-Follows food storage guidelines to ensure food safety; stores foods according to minimum internal temperature. Ensures ready to eat foods are never stored below raw meats or eggs.

-Uses a marker to date all items as they are removed from boxes or placed on shelves or storage areas.

-Removes all landfill waste from designated areas. Replaces bags and ensures waste management areas are clean and free of wildlife attractants.

-Removes all recycling from designated areas. Ensures all recycling areas are clean and free of wildlife attractants. Sorts recycling as needed to ensure recyclables are placed in appropriate areas.

-Maintains cleanliness and organization of electronics recycling area.

-Ensures linens and other laundered items are picked up and delivered in a timely manner so as not to negatively impact guest service.

-Maintains cleanliness of all food storage areas at all times by sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping, sanitizing, etc.

-Produces, distributes, and files all necessary documents to support the receiving, storing, transferring, or returning of items used in the operation.

-Maintains a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

-Works efficiently and productively at all times with little to no supervision.

-Maintains high level of integrity and attention to detail at all times.

-Uses proper etiquette and language when communicating with others whether it be face-to-face, via phone, or via radio.

-Follows NPS lost and found procedures at all times.

-Maintains a clean and organized workspace, including company vehicles.

-Performs deep cleaning or other tasks as assigned which may include: washing walls, woodwork and windows; sweeping and mopping; etc.

-Performs all duties with consideration of the Company’s environmental commitment. Considers natural resource consumption, especially as it pertains to water and electricity.

-Follows all specialized clean-up procedures (biohazard, Hantavirus, pest).

-Uses appropriate chemicals and tools for the job.

-Follows all federal and state laws, as well as Company policy, while operating Company vehicle(s).

-Ensures adequate amount of fuel is in Company vehicle at the end of each work day.

-Maintains cleanliness of Company vehicle.

-Assists with any furniture moving or transportation of large items throughout the park.

-Reports any vehicle incidents immediately to Purchasing Manager or Assistant General Manager.

-Assists with seasonal closing procedures for winterization of park facilities.

-Performs all duties in a safety conscious manner. Maintains a safe workplace. Reports all safety issues or potentially hazardous situations to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.

-Performs other duties as assigned with positivity and professionalism.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications:

Qualifications, Experience, Physical Demands:

-Prior experience in seasonal hospitality, especially National Park(s), highly preferred.

-Prior experience in warehousing or waste management highly preferred.

-Ability to work effectively and efficiently while unsupervised required.

-Strong organizational skills and attention to finite details required.

-Valid U.S. driver’s license required.

-CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

-This is a physically challenging job. Physically able to: repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds; safely operate dolly and handcart; push and pull heavily loaded laundry carts; repeatedly twist/bend/reach throughout shift; safely operate company vehicle; stand/walk steadily throughout shift; work a full shift getting only those breaks as required by Oregon state law; perform all duties in inclement weather or intense sunshine; perform most duties outdoors, including during mosquito season; use provided chemicals; work in dusty/dirty environment; work in normal kitchen environment including heat, steam, grease, noise, coolers, freezers, wet floors, etc.
