Job Opening: Classroom Presenter/Environmental Educator- King and Snohomish Counties

Triangle Associates Inc., a small environmental consulting firm, is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic educator to present classroom programs for grades 1-12. Presenters will teach multiple classes per day within a school, providing 45-60 minute workshops per classroom. The work will be in King and Snohomish Counties. We are seeking candidates looking for a position with a flexible schedule and interested in presenting anywhere from 10-15 hours/week, with a potential for more hours depending on the time of year.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience teaching students ages 6-18 in formal or non- formal setting. (classroom setting preferred).
  • Excellent classroom management skills and ability to work under pressure in a school setting. Able to adapt teaching style for various ages and learning
    • Voice projection, improvisational skills, and know-how to teach lessons and present information in an engaging and hands-on
  • Basic background knowledge of and interest in learning more about environmental issues such as water conservation and pollution prevention, renewable energy, climate change, recycling, and waste reduction (helpful but not required).

Requirements

• A reliable car, valid Washington State driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance covering bodily injury and property damage. *
  • Presenter must be available to work during school hours with possible early travel start times for presentations at secondary schools (between 6 AM and 5 PM).
• Ability to check and respond to email

• Periodically visit downtown Seattle office for switching materials and meeting with project
  • Ability to carry props and workshop

Compensation

• $18 per hour
• Travel time and mileage at the IRS-approved rate reimbursed if car is
