The duty station is the Sol Duc Hatchery located at 1423 Pavel Rd, Beaver, WA. Anticipated start date is October 1, 2017. |
Duties: |
Responsibilities include: Adult fish handling fish feeding and pond cleaning Tasks include: Collecting, sorting, and spawning of adult and juvenile salmon. This position is responsible for vacuuming and pressure washing the ponds for cleaning. Lifting 44 pounds feed bags to empty into buckets to feed fish. Egg and fish sampling and picking Tasks include: Weighing and counting salmon eggs and removing egg deformities and mortalities. These duties require long periods of standing, careful attention to detail and protocols in often cold temperatures. Ground and equipment maintenance Public Contact and Communications Working Conditions: The work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00-4:30, depending on time of year; includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Working outside in adverse weather conditions and perform strenuous physical activities. May occasionally require travel and work in excess of 40 hours per week to meet seasonal workload demands throughout the complex. This position requires a valid driver’s license. (If selected for an interview, you will be required to bring a copy of your license and driving record at the time of the interview.)
