GRuB grows healthy food, people & community. We create learning & leadership opportunities that cultivate resilience through connection to land, self and community. Our work bridges the fields of sustainable food systems, healthcare, education, and hunger by engaging underserved populations in innovative, holistic, and community-centered solutions. GRuB is working to ensure that marginalized communities and disengaged youth are at the center, not the fringes, of the “Good Food Movement”.
We are looking for a Community Education Intern to join the Victory Garden Project (VGP) team for 2018.
The Community Education Intern works with the VGP team to design, coordinate and implement our Community Workshop series, and update and develop community education materials and curriculum. This position coordinates and scheduled workshops, and supports the community members who teach our workshops. Depending on experience and interest, the position may also have opportunities to teach our spring garden workshops.
Hands-on experience in community outreach, volunteer coordination, event and workshop planning,
project documentation and evaluation.
This position can be set-up for one or more quarters of college credit. It is also open to non-students.
This position requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week for 10 weeks.
Begins no later than April 9th 2018 with the option to start as early as March 1st. End date is flexible.
