Washington State Parks employs more than 500 permanent staff and more than 350 seasonal and temporary staff throughout the state. The headquarters office is located in Tumwater, and region offices are located in Burlington, East Wenatchee and Tumwater.___________________________This recruitment will be used to fill a seasonal Senior Park Aide position located at Lyons Ferry State Park in Franklin County, Washington.

-
Under the supervision of the Park Ranger, this position is essential to the state park’s mission of operating, enhancing, and protecting our Parks’ recreational, cultural, historical and natural sites. The incumbent will assist and contribute toward all aspects of park operations and will lead work responsibilities.
Duties include, but are not limited to:- Lead Park Aides and/or volunteers.
- Perform cleaning of all park facilities, including picnic sites, trails, restrooms, parking lots and roads.
- Assist rangers in maintaining all facilities in a condition that is operationally functional, clean in appearance and safe for the public and staff.
- Perform grounds keeping maintenance using power and hand tools to clear brush and trees, prune shrubs, rake leaves, weed and flower bed maintenance.
- Maintain park lawns using a mower, weed eater, trimmers, and various maintenance tools.
- Perform daily garbage collection and litter control.
- Clean restrooms and stock cleaning supplies.
- Assist with daily camping registration and training of employees.
- Provide information to visitors in regards to park rules and regulations, local events, activities, walks and talks, and historic information.
- Collect, sort, and count park revenue.
- Prepare attendance and interpretive reports.
- Maintain monthly equipment and safety logs, timesheets, and fuel and oil logs.
- Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Twelve (12) months of experience in building maintenance or grounds keeping, or performing semi-skilled/general carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work.
OR
- Six months cumulative experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent), or twelve months experience in a special employment program (Washington Conservation Corps) with a parks agency. A combination of experience (WCC and Park Aide) may be used provided candidate has at least three months experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent).
AND
- A valid driver’s license.
- At least 18 years old.
