Guest Speaker RYAN BELLEROSE will give a talk entitled:
“Indigenous Struggles and Advocacy in the Modern World”

RYAN BELLEROSE is a Métis (Native People recognized by the Canadian government as indigenous) from Northern Alberta, Canada. Ryan founded Canadians For Accountability, a Native rights advocacy group, and has been an Idle No More (INM) movement organizer working to support indigenous sovereignty and land and water stewardship. His father, Mervin Bellerose, co-authored the Métis Settlements Act of 1989, which the Alberta legislature passed in 1990, cementing Native land rights. Ryan is a founder of Calgary United with Israel, an organization which takes a keen interest in global Indigenous issues with a specific focus on Canada’s First Nations.
