Anchor QEA, an environmental science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking fisheries biologist and science-related technicians to fill several full and part-time positions from February through November 2018 in Eastern Washington.
These positions offer opportunities for training and experience in fisheries management, working directly with US Army Corps of Engineers Biologists monitoring the health of migrating juvenile salmon. Technicians will assist with monitoring the number and condition of smolts collected at five hydroelectric projects on the Snake and Columbia Rivers. Tasks include but are not limited to: salmonid and non-salmonid species identification; avian predator identification; basic math calculations; data entry in Microsoft Word and Excel; and scientific report writing. These positions may require working holidays and weekends and working on multiple projects at various locations. Project sites are located at the McNary, Ice Harbor, Lower Monumental, Little Goose, and Lower Granite dams. Some travel expenses will be covered.
