Taryn Cardwell
Farm manager will work directly with farm owner on plantings, weeding, harvest and CSA basket deliveries each week for 20 weeks. Manager will also be responsible to make sure that other interns are completing tasks on schedule. The opportunity to learn how to make food preserves and medicinal body care products will be available but interest is not required for employment. The participation in farmer’s market is also possible but not required. Housing and a large CSA share with eggs will be provided.
Has one year experience with either farming, gardening or landscaping. Has experience with managing a small team.
~Understand and implement continuous planting and harvest for CSA.
~Learn to manage interns and volunteers for farm projects.
~Learn how to drive and operate a small tractor.
~Develop an understanding of how to start and run a CSA farm.
~Develop a basic understanding of working with the natural surroundings to preserve the environment while working the land to create a viable business.
~Develop general botany skill to be used on the farm and surrounding forests
~Understand local food systems to find our place in the system
~Learn to manage interns and volunteers for farm projects.
~Learn how to drive and operate a small tractor.
~Develop an understanding of how to start and run a CSA farm.
~Develop a basic understanding of working with the natural surroundings to preserve the environment while working the land to create a viable business.
~Develop general botany skill to be used on the farm and surrounding forests
