Unigen has an exciting opportunity for a Chemistry Lab Research Assistant internship at our Tacoma, Washington office! Unigen Inc. is a leading natural products research and development company and proprietary ingredients provider. The company is dedicated to the discovery of botanically derived therapeutic compounds that address consumer health needs and help improve the quality of human health. Its research and discovery process includes extensive work at both the human cell and gene level. Unigen focuses on identifying and studying the unique ingredients of medicinal botanicals and then formulating proprietary raw materials for use in cosmeceutical, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical products. SUMMARY
The Chemistry Lab Research Assistant performs routine assistance for lab functions, including but not limited to: taxonomy, special on-going research assistance, aid in set-up of experiments/research, lab maintenance and cleaning.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Must be a current college student, pursuing a degree related to Chemistry, Biology, and or Environmental Sciences
• 1-year completion of basic and organic chemistry
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn new laboratory procedures and processes
• Strong communication skills, oral and written
• Ability to work in personal protective equipment (PPE)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute basic laboratory work such as evaporating solvents
• Perform Taxonomy
• Support in lab research
• Help facilitate in the assistance of setup for experiments/research
• Measure, weigh, and record material/data
• Assist with the creation, printing and placing of labels
• Perform packaging duties
• Clean lab supplies
