Research topics and Internship opportunities with Deschutes Land Trust (DLT)

Current CEOAS Board Member Gus Gustafson recently communicated a need in Central OR for additional research on a wide variety of natural resource topics related to the various properties owned by the Deschutes Land Trust (DLT).  The DLT owns and manages about 9,036 acres on some 13 properties in the Deschutes River basin for wildlife, scenic views and local communities.  Among other things, the DLT has been very involved in restoring historical wetlands on properties where the Corps of Engineers and others have channelized stream banks in the past.

There are numerous research topic possibilities for master’s or doctorate thesis topics on these lands with particular potential for students in Environmental Sciences, Geography and Geology.  For the right student, there also may be internship possibilities.
