The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Development Division is seeking an experienced IT professional to serve as the Asset Data Steward in Olympia, WA. The incumbent will be responsible for the asset data stewardship for ADA, hydraulic assets, and roadside hardware assets, as well as other mission critical duties essential to the agency. This position provides leadership, consultation, expert services as data steward for assigned assets, management of spatial, temporal, and other characteristics of asset data, life cycle cost estimation, and other analysis needs for the division related to asset management including, but not limited to, history, location, type, condition and performance.
This is an expert level position responsible for creating and maintaining the data systems for assigned assets, including developing test and production environments for the data, integrating data across functional areas and platforms, providing for data update and maintenance, and configuring access to this data to those performing analysis and reporting. This position provides guidance and services relating to the management of spatial and temporal components of the data, data for business analysis and evaluation of technological solutions within the discipline of GIS specifically as it relates to the management of asset or event data for the Development Division.

This position will perform the following work:
- Develop, implement, and manage asset data marts for assigned assets.
- Develop test and production environments for asset data marts to store, maintain, and provide access to assigned asset data as enterprise assets.
- Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control for assigned asset data marts.
- Data fusion and delivery of data to analysts and asset stewards.
- Engage, contribute and represent the Development Division in the areas related to migration to an Enterprise GIS.
An ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Bachelors of Science degree in computer science, natural science, AND nine (9) semester hours of GIS coursework or equivalent experience.
- Experience with relational database systems.
- Working knowledge of GPS and mobile device data collection technologies.
- Minimum of three years of expert level data stewardship experience with asset and event data including processing, ETL, and complex analysis.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with Esri Roads and Highways, managing data in a spatial and temporal Enterprise GIS.
- Valid driver’s license.
