The Center for International Environmental Law is seeking a skilled advocacy expert and seasoned campaigner as the next Senior Campaigner for its People, Land & Resources Program (PLR). This is a great opportunity for an energetic individual with knowledge of current human rights issues and environmental challenges, who is experienced in mobilizing local and international campaigns to accompany, support, and defend communities and the environment worldwide.

In its almost 30 years, CIEL has built a reputation as one of the leading watchdogs of development finance institutions and plays a vital role in defending the environment and communities against the adverse impacts of development by ensuring that the laws and policies governing development activities are consistent with those protecting the environment and human rights. The PLR program monitors financial flows; empowers communities to advocate for their rights; strengthens international legal tools; and strives to increase corporate accountability.

The PLR Senior Campaigner position requires: knowledge of human rights, environment, and/or international development finance; demonstrated success in creating and mobilizing effective campaigns; effective communication and public speaking skills; extensive experience working in collaborative processes; and fluency in both English and Spanish.
