In order to further our forest restoration and environmental education efforts, we are hiring an AmeriCorps member to assist DNDA’s Nature Consortium program in increasing the amount of local residents who participate in our forest restoration programming, as well as engaging local youth in environmental education and EcoArts activities. Members will support the work of the Urban Forest Restoration Team, EcoArts Team and Wetland Stewardship Team to advance the preservation of natural Seattle greenspaces including the West Duwamish Greenbelt and Longfellow Creek watershed.
Member Duties : Members will perform volunteer outreach, recruitment and coordination as well as conduct volunteer-based forest restoration efforts while engaging with community members and partners. Additionally, members will assist with youth-centered, educational and creative environmental programming that is inspired by, made from or created in nature. Examples of this youth programming could include reflective writing, constructing a model urban forest, or identifying and illustrating native plants.
