A former gravel mine site, the park is host to the longest stretch of undeveloped shoreline in King County. Come help re-plant trees to help restore the natural shoreline processes that bring sediment from the bluffs to the nearshore and marine areas where Chinook salmon live. Be a part of King County’s effort to plant a million trees by 2020!

Join us on beautiful Maury Island as we continue helping King County Parks with restoration work at the Maury Island Marine Park, King County’s longest stretch of undeveloped shoreline! This beautiful spot was once the site of a gravel mine. Our work will help add trees restoring the natural erosional processes that bring just the right about of sediment down into the nearshore for small fish to grow up and become orca food.
