Monitoring and Outreach Corpsmember
The AmeriCorps Monitoring and Outreach Corpsmember (ages 18-25) is based at the International Water Institute (IWI) in Crookston, MN. Under the direct guidance of an International Water Institute project supervisor, the corpsmember will assist with Monitoring projects, water quality monitoring and watershed education programs in the Red River of the North Basin (Minnesota and North Dakota) provided by the Institute. Up to 15-20% of the service term is dedicated to technical and personal skills training.
JOB DETAILS:
— AmeriCorps service position (ages 18-25)
— Term: January 16-December 13, 2019
— Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. typical.
— Stipend: $1690/mo
— Education award: $5920 upon successful completion of term
— Location: Crookston, MN
QUALIFICATIONS:
— Experience with ArcGIS
— Positive attitude and strong commitment to service and community work
— Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
— Ability to work with children and youth in outdoor settings
— Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
— Creative thinking and problem solving
— Experience, course work or training in macroinvertebrate and water quality monitoring desired
— College coursework and/or degree in a relevant field
REQUIREMENTS:
— 18-25 years old.
— Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
— Full term of service must be completed in order to receive the education award.
