Job Description:

  • The position will assist with tasks related to institution-wide sustainability efforts for the College.
  • The position will work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • The position will advance and promote sustainability initiatives, operations, and outreach activities.
  • Assists with conducting a sustainability audit, compiles data, prepares sustainability indicators reports (including cost-benefit analysis),
  • Disseminates outcomes including achievements, current efforts, and future focus areas for reducing environmental, social and economic impacts,
  • Assists in investigating alternative sources of funding and special projects,
  • Assists in developing and maintaining program manuals and policies,
  • Assists with initiating collaboration with College departments to develop discipline-specific internships related to sustainability, and
  • Identifies and assists the implementation of service learning opportunities.
  • Other tasks as needed

Supplemental Job Information:

This part-time position will not exceed 29 working hours per week. The supervisor will establish the work schedule upon hiring. The applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s Florida license. Local reimbursable travel is required. In addition, applicants must submit a resume at the time of application.

Qualifications:

The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and three years of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in a field related to sustainability.
  • Experience in sustainability or energy conservation desirable,
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues and best practices, and a commitment to institutional and societal sustainability,
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multi-dimensional activities simultaneously,
  • Self-motivation with the ability to exercise good judgment in establishing effective priorities among competing task demands,
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including exemplary telephone skills,
  • Strong reading, writing, and computation skills as well as computer literacy

Pay Rate: $18.40
