This position will contribute to and enhance the College of Natural Resources’ Treehaven mission as the Wisconsin center for integrating natural resources education, research, land management and outreach. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and implement stewardship, outreach, and academic activities that promote and enhance stewardship of the Treehaven land base and increase Treehaven’s visibility through academic and public outreach. This position will also enhance CNR’s mission through innovative teaching and research at Treehaven. It will also be expected to increase program and grant revenues while building capacity in natural resources professional development for the state of Wisconsin. Finally, this position will maintain communication and coordination with Treehaven Director, Treehaven program staff, and faculty and staff in the College of Natural Resources.

Required Qualifications

• Master of Science in Natural Resources, Biology or related field

• Demonstrated abilities and experience in land management

• Experience providing Natural Resource educational programming

• Minimum three (3) years experience

• Demonstrated leadership ability

• Demonstrated ability to work independently

• Strong demonstrated abilities in personal and public communications including oral and written forms

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing timber sales or contract administration

• Competency in computer use and field computer equipment including GIS and other land management or research software

• Experience using land management field equipment including tractors, skid steer, chainsaws

• Experience developing and managing budgets

• Experience working within a cooperative team framework

• Experience providing Land Management educational programming

• Experience in successful workshop/conference coordination
