Help Boston University achieve its commitment to carbon neutrality by 2040. sustainability@BU, Boston University’s award-winning sustainability office is building capacity to support the Climate Action Plan recently approved by the Board of Trustees. This is an unparalleled opportunity develop and execute a communications plan to help advance sustainability on campus, locally, nationally, and globally. You will report to the Associate Vice President for University Sustainability and collaborate closely with the Sustainability Director and the sustainability team, Campus Planning and Operations, Dining Services, and many other departments across the University. The successful candidate will also work in partnership with the University’s Marketing and Communications departments. This position is responsible for strategic leadership and execution of communication activities connected to the Climate Action Plan and the University’s sustainability initiatives. This position leads the strategy development and implementation of the integrated marketing and communications plan across all relevant channels, ensuring that key messages effectively reach audiences at the appropriate times.

Required SkillsThe successful candidate will be a strong and creative collaborator with exceptional verbal, graphical, written, and multimedia communication skills. This position requires high proficiency with the Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office and have advanced knowledge of WordPress. This candidate will have the ability to collaborate and function effectively as part of a dynamic team and across departments. This position requires at five to seven years of related communications experience. Qualifications: A strong understanding of sustainability issues. Exceptional communications skills, especially writing, editing, and verbal. Creative graphical, multimedia, and social media communications skills. A self-starter and collaborator who demonstrates strong communications, problem solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
