he Opportunity:

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join the Southwest Region (SWR) Environmental Office as the Environmental Manager. This position will develop and establish the long-term vision of the region’s environmental program. The selected candidate will be responsible for balancing the complex and competing needs and priorities of the agency and transportation impacts on the state’s cultural and natural resources having significant influence on other organizations, programs and citizens. The selected individual will be responsible for ensuring all construction, maintenance and operations activities comply with all federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations that is consistent with WSDOT’s mission and goals.

Our top candidate will be an experienced strategic leader with excellent customer service skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive and effective interagency partnerships with all federal, state and local regulatory agencies, tribal governments, stakeholders and the public.
