Dieffenbauch & Hritz, LLC (D&H) is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist I to join our team in Morgantown, WV. We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to be an integral part of a group of professionals that provide superior engineering, environmental, surveying, and construction services to the energy, transportation and land development industries.
Job Description
As an Environmental Scientist I, you will work within a team to perform and document routine environmental field investigations. The Environmental Scientist I will perform stream and wetland delineations, habitat assessments, botanical surveys, macroinvertebrate surveys, fish surveys, avian survey, soil infiltration testing, and Phase I site assessments. The qualified candidate will assist with the preparation of reporting that documents the field survey results.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university in biology, natural sciences, or environmental studies.
Minimum 1 year working experience with an emphasis on: stream/ wetland resources and assessments, Clean Water Act (CWA), National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
Experience with stream assessment: RBP, QHEI, HHEI & NCDWQ Stream Id.
Experience with wetland assessments: ORAM & PA WC L2RAP.
Experience with soil profiling.
Experience operating hand-held GPS device.
ESRI GIS mapping experience a plus.
Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Screening required.
