Arcadis North America is seeking an experienced Manager to support the continued growth of its business in Midland, Texas and the surrounding area. The ideal candidate will have a high level of ownership and commitment focusing on our people and client success to create sustainable outcomes and to improve the quality of life. This position oversees a multi-faceted staff of engineers and scientists and will be charged with the professional development and management of these individuals. The position will collaborate with other local leadership and major accounts to find opportunities and drive sales in the local market, while ensuring excellence in the delivery of existing projects.

This position requires team leadership, strategic planning, client outreach, pursuit leadership, recruiting, project management, and staff management skills supported by passion for leadership and business success and, as such, maintains utilization expectations in combination with this leadership role.

 

Position expectations include, but are not limited to:

Visible steward of health & safety

Have knowledge of the local/regional services market, especially related to the upstream O&G business in the Midland/West Texas area

Collaborate with other senior leadership in the office to help maintain client relationships, build new business, and participate in the evaluation of new project opportunities

Acts as senior project manager, managing PMs, field staff, and support staff on complex projects from inception to closure (budget, schedule, scope, plan and direct consulting activities, quality control, etc.)

As a manager of staff, ensures that all performance reviews, goal setting and career development planning are completed for all employees

Trains, coaches and mentors staff, helping them develop their technical consulting, business development, pursuit leadership, and project execution skills

Manages morale, hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance management and terminations

Ensures that subordinate supervisors are well trained and effective in their supervisory responsibilities

Organizes and directs internal staff and external subcontractors in accordance with project priorities, guidelines and contractual obligations

Engages and works with various local, national, and global technical leaders as appropriate.

Maintains visibility and professionalism in the market by participating in civic and professional organizations and encouraging all staff to do the same

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field)

10 years of experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

Strong consulting skills, including project management and client relationship management at senior management level

Give clear direction and delegate effectively

Have strong written and oral communication skills for complex reports and presentations
