Mosca-Hooper Conservation District is currently seeking a qualified, highly skilled individual with a passion for conservation to fill the District Manager role. This is a part-time position at 24-hours-per-week; flexible except for required regular evening board and other meetings/events occasionally. RESPONSIBILTIES

Responsible for the management of all aspects of the district program. Detail oriented and reliable project and administrative skills to meet any and every deadline and State compliance.

Identifies sources and makes recommendations to the board to secure operating funds.

Writes grants and follows up with required reporting.

Maintains records and an accounting system using QuickBooks and submits all required reports on time, including monthly financial reports and annual budget.

Manages all sales aspects of compost, soil moisture sensors, and/or other revenue-generating District business(es).

Files monthly and quarterly sales tax reports.

Plans, manages, and prepares packets for required monthly board meetings. Records minutes.

Plans, manages and prepares materials for special meetings including Watershed and Annual Meetings, trainings and other events. Records minutes.

Maintains website and social media with up-to-date and relevant information.

Writes and distributes press releases as required.

Presents ideas and information to the board and reports on district activities.

Assesses conservation needs within the District and helps the board to incorporate the information into Long Range Plan.

Maintains a cooperative relationship with natural resource agencies and county.

Is responsible for proper maintenance and use of all district equipment and facilities.

Coordinates requests for district assistance with appropriate resource agencies.

Keeps the district board informed of actions taken, trends in conservation work that are developing, and issues which may be of interest to the district.

Coordinates district involvement and assistance in a variety of programs and activities with NRCS district conservationist, the State Conservation Board, and others.

Is responsible for maintaining a district filing system and for seeing that all district reports, correspondence, minutes, financial reports, etc., are submitted on time and in a professional manner.

Utilizes the on-line conservation district Reference Manual as a guide.

Performs other related duties as requested by president of the board or the designee.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED

MUST PASS FEDERAL SECURITY SCREENING/BACKGROUND CHECK

Demonstrate ability to be self-motivated and self-directed in the workplace

Demonstrate good inter-personal and customer service skills

Demonstrate good organizational and multi-tasking skills

Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills

Ability to operate a variety of software programs necessary to complete work assignments, including Microsoft Office products and QuickBooks

Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of cooperator business and records

Understanding of agricultural and conservation issues is an advantage
