Please join Columbia Springs at our upcoming Annual Invasive Species Survey! Since 2009, Columbia Springs staff and volunteers have collected data on the spatial extent of several invasive plants at our 100-acre natural area. This event is a great way for volunteers to participate in a community science project, all while giving back to their community. The data collected informs our future invasive species management strategies. We’ll need volunteers to help us survey for four different invasive plants, including Himalayan blackberry, ivy, holly, and laurel. Volunteers will work in teams, locate survey markers, identify plants, and collect data. Columbia Springs will provide snacks, tools, gloves, training, and guidance. Volunteers are asked to bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress in outdoor/work-appropriate clothing. We love it when families join us, but children must be 7 years or older to volunteer at this event.

Event Time: Saturday, February 23rd, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Location: 12208 SE Evergreen Hwy, Vancouver, WA 98683
