Summer Programs Coordinator (2)

Part-time to Full-time Temporary Summer Position

(Start Date: March 4 Part-Time moving to Full-time status May 1 – August 15)

Essential Functions:

Design of Program:

  • Design program itineraries incorporating ideas and feedback from program partners
  • Develop and implement Summer Program itineraries.
  • Design and implement survey tools for summer program participants.
  • Distribute and collect required forms and waivers related to Summer Program participants. (e.g. field trip waiver forms, emergency information and medical information forms, press release form, and conference card management)

Implementation of Program:

  • Coordinate scheduling and monitoring of Summer Program transportation needs using SMU vehicles and other transportation companies as needed.
  • Establish work schedules for Program Leaders, Student Ambassadors, and drivers.
  • Coordinate the day to day operations of the Summer Programs, to include a daily touch base with the Executive Director and others involved in Summer Programs at the beginning of each day.
  • Assist with training Summer Program staff and ESL instructors
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be willing to drive a 12-passenger van to transport students/visitors to and from events, upon successful completion of SMU driving certification.
  • Ability to problem-solve and perform under time-pressured situations.
  • Must be supportive of a Catholic, Benedictine philosophy of education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated event planning experience
  • Excellent Excel, Word and Publisher skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the work independently
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with international exchange students
  • Previous experience traveling or living internationally
  • ESL teaching experience
