Montane Carnivore
and Hoary Marmot Study
in North Cascades National Park

We are seeking an experienced field person to participate on a collaborative Montane
Carnivore and Hoary Marmot Study in North Cascades National Park. The position will
involve observing marmot behavior, collecting carnivore scats along trails, deploying
and maintaining remote camera stations, handling and processing DNA samples, and
collecting and organizing field data. We are a motivated crew and are looking for
someone with a positive attitude who enjoys long days hiking in wilderness areas, and
has a willingness and ability to work alone at times. Backpacking will be a significant
component of the position and housing will be provided in an RV in the study area.

Location : North Cascades National Park

Salary : $1,000/month

Your qualifications should include previous field experience on wildlife research
studies. The preferred applicant will hold a B.Sc. in wildlife biology or related field, and
have a strong background recreating in the mountains. You will be expected to be in
strong physical shape with experience travelling in the backcountry in mountainous
terrain. You would need to use your own car, which must be reliable – mileage will be
reimbursed. You would also need to provide your own backpacking gear. This position
will be June 18th – September 10th, 2019.
