Minimum Requirements: Current student available to work part-time Spring Quarter 2019, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry or equivalent Spring through Fall 2019.

Excellent communication skills; able to interface directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and specialty chemical business stakeholders in person and over the phone. Must be self-motivated, performance driven and able to work well with other team members.

Strong research capabilities and technical writing skills to support development and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s), Technical Data Sheets (TDS’s) and provide regulatory compliance letters/reports for governmental entities (FDA, EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and support clients (North America and Internationally).

Computer literacy (minimum expectation is proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Must meet security clearance (such as TWIC or other specified background checks) requirements of company and client facilities and participate in and help manage company drug and alcohol testing program. Must have or obtain HAZWOPER, hazardous shipment (FedEx), First Aid/CPR and other certifications as required.

Job Description: Successful candidate will be responsible for regulatory and health and safety compliance for environmentally driven specialty chemical business, interfacing with employees, vendors, clients and governmental entities. Must have strong research capabilities, technical writing and computer skills. Will work in a team setting, with staff and vendors, providing the technical expertise to prepare regulatory compliance reports, evaluate corrective action alternatives, implement corrective action measures, conduct performance evaluations of implemented measures, and assist with product R&D. Candidate will make sure that the business adheres to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements in performing work of all types (i.e., technical field work), and lead efforts to continuously improve environmental and HSE performance of the company. Environmental Scientist will maintain ISO 9001 compliance in relation of the above, assist with maintaining ISO 9001 program as assigned by the ISO program chair or co-chair.
