This position supports the Maintenance and Operations division within Information Technology, directly serving the Application Infrastructure Support — GIS team who interact and work to meet the needs of multiple business areas within the agency by providing management and support of spatial data. We strive to understand our customers business needs and realities so that we can suggest, develop, and maintain the best possible GIS technology solutions. You will provides working level technical services by designing, testing, implementing and maintaining multi-dimensional geographic information systems used to provide, manage, monitor and assess data required to make informed decisions at enterprise, division and business unit level for large and complex development efforts.
Some of what you will do:
- Develop and plan code implementations and code drops
- Maintains and catalogs GIS code, services and applications in TFS libraries.
- Review and approve code modification of fellow developers before migration into user acceptance testing and into production
- Write queries, develop reports and update data for spatial and non-spatial data
- Extract data from multiple data sources
- Provide performance analysis and consultation on current systems to ensure database infrastructure can support new proposals.
- Develop, create and manage data visualizations for multiple business areas.
- Coordinate and train application core teams on application deployment protocol.
What we are seeking:
- Stay current in the technologies included but not limited to Microsoft Office Technologies, Visual Studio 2015 or greater, and Python for ArcGIS.
- The ability to Uses a combination of GIS, web programming skills and development tools to build GIS map and data services that are created in a web map format within ArcGIS Online (AGOL) or L&I GIS Portal.
- Two years knowledge of enterprise geo databases within the ArcGlS Enterprise product stack and geo coding methodologies is desired.
- Working knowledge of ArcGlS Online and webmap development is desired.
- Working knowledge of metadata, data management and multi-user geo databases.
Who should apply:
- Professionals with a bachelor’s degree (BABS) in geography, GIS, computer science, or a related field which includes 15 quarter hours of computer science and four years of work experience as a GIS developer, spatial application developer and technician, or providing the equivalent support services, and must have experience and/or knowledge of GIS standards and technologies.
OR
- Four years of Information Technology experience working full-time in a professional IT workplace.
OR
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or completion of an accredited vocational training program in information technology or related program, and four years of Information Technology experience in a professional IT workplace. Experience includes but is not limited to analyzing, designing, implementing, maintaining a GIS based computing environment.
