DutiesAccess Maintenance:

Clean access site vault toilets using pressure washer, scouring powder and brush. Remove garbage in and around access sites, including access roads on wildlife areas.  Repair and replace signs using hand tools making sure they agency standard and ascetics. Repair pole and stock fences within and adjacent to access sites including installation of posts, braces and splices using fence stretchers, fencing pliers, t-post pounder, post hole digger and other hand tools, making sure post are level and wire is stretched tight. Removing graffiti as found using methods consistent with the agency and do so in a safe manner; wearing appropriate PPE.  Assist Region 2 North Access Manager with various projects on access sites using small and large motorized equipment and hand tools. This may include but not limited to boat ramp repair, parking lot maintenance, replacing signs and information kiosks, dirt work, barrier rock placement, gravel/rock placement, and potential concrete work. Vegetation control – spraying, hand pulling, and mowing noxious weeds with ATV mower and utility tractor, weed trimmer, pruners and chain saw to suppress or remove vegetation.

Facilities and Equipment Maintenance:

Store and maintain equipment, this includes hand tools, power tools, weed trimmer, chain saw, backpack sprayers, ATV mower, ATV, trailers, small engines, pressure washer, other pesticide spraying systems, access trucks and utility tractor and implements.

Office/Administrative Work:

Keep daily log of activities, report site time and keep weekly updated. Track herbicide use.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED and three months of natural resource related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in natural resource related labor.
• Current holder of WSDA Public Pesticide Applicator License
• Ability to meet productivity standards, deadlines and work schedules.
• Knowledge of vehicles and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work independently and with others maintaining a high quality of work in a safe and respectful manner
• Willingness and ability to perform in a punctual and dependable manner.
• Ability to obtain a public pesticide applicators license.

Supplemental InformationWorking Conditions:
Work Setting, including hazards: Work in all weather conditions and terrain.
Schedule: 10 hours    Monday – Thursday
Travel Requirements: May travel up to 100% of the day.
Tools and Equipment: Various hand tools, manual, power and gas. ATV & ATV mower and utility tractor.
Customer Interactions: There will be frequent customer interaction, mostly in higher-use access sites.
