Job Description

The Environmental Molecular Division seeks an environmental hydrologist in the area of multiphase pore to intermediate-scale hydrology and biogeochemistry with research interests in the environmental science domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the existing state of the art flow and transport capabilities, assist with the operation and maintenance of these capabilities, and participate in highly collaborative research with other scientists in the application of these capabilities to a variety of research domains. The micromodel and intermediate-scale laboratories have established history of excellence in contaminant fate and transport research in saturated and unsaturated subsurface ecosystems. We seek to extend these capabilities to study plant-soil-microbe-hydrologic systems including nutrient cycling, rhizosphere processes, and microbial biogeochemistry. The candidate will be responsible for engaging and supporting users from the EMSL user facility (link) with the design, execution, analysis and simulation of empirical data from the flow and transport capability.
