The Water Resources Intern will report to the Water Resources Conservation Coordinator.  The primary function of this position is to provide assistance to the Water Conservation office in a variety of programs. The Intern will update and maintain databases and provide research support and analysis for different reports and initiatives. The Intern will also assist with mapping efforts to aid in establishing landscape water budgets. This position will organize and distribute materials for different outreach initiatives and events. Additionally, the intern will accompany and assist Water Conservation Specialists with Water Efficiency Checkups and youth education, as needed.

At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward thinking problem-solvers who love what they do!  In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:

  • 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in Water Conservation, Horticulture, or similar area of study
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability or similar
  • Junior/Senior level college students preferred, but Freshman/Sophomores also encouraged to apply
  • 2 years of experience working in an professional setting
  • 1 year of experience in a Community Outreach or Youth Education Program
  • Knowledge of local water resources and desert plants is a plus
  • Google Earth Pro experience preferred but not required
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License is required
