South King County Organizer (East African Community)

OneAmerica is seeking an organizer who is deeply passionate about building relationships to advance power through strengthening a base of East African grassroots leaders in south King County to advance justice.
The South King County Organizer will focus on building a team of leaders and developing their leadership skills with a focus on running local campaigns on education, economic justice, democracy reform and immigration and establishing crosscultural alliances. This position is perfect for someone excited to drive key campaigns in south King County
focused on building a powerful base of grassroots leaders in the region to lead this change.

English Innovations Kids Activities Coordinator – Des Moines

Coordinate activities for the children of adult students who will be enrolled in the English Innovations Program at Midway Elementary site. Providing oversight of the children gives the adults the opportunity to participate in an evening class to increase their English language and digital literacy skills. The overall goal is for immigrant parents to better achieve personal and professional goals, and integrate more fully into civic, linguistic, economic and cultural life in the United States.

Development Administrative Assistant

OneAmerica is seeking a part-time Development Administrative Assistant to join the Development team. The Development Administrative Assistant will be responsible for entering gifts in the organization’s donor database, producing gift receipts, and general administrative support of the Development team as assigned.

You will have opportunities to learn skills around nonprofit fundraising and participate in organizational training activities. The position is based in our Seattle office and reports to the Development Manager.

Community Canvasser (Sunnyside)

OneAmerica is looking for a part‐time temporary community canvasser. This position will focus on community and door-to-door civic engagement education in the Yakima/Sunnyside area. The Community Canvasser will
work with OneAmerica’s Civic Engagement Manager and local organizers to engage voters in immigrant and refugee communities during the election.

Volunteer Opportunities

English Innovations Tutor:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring a small group fo five students during class and group discussions
  • Assist adult learners one-on-one in class with English language and computer literacy skills
  • Help facilitiate in-class activities, with opportunities to lead sessions and create lesson plans
