Puget Sound Day on the Sound in Washington State

 

Dear Friend of Puget Sound,

To follow up on the success of our annual Puget Sound Day on the Hill in Washington, DC, we invite you to participate in our first-ever Puget Sound Day on the Sound in Washington State.

It is scheduled to take place on October 8, 2019, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, at the Puyallup Tribe Youth Center, 5803 N Levee Rd E, Tacoma, WA 98424.

Please join the Puget Sound Partnership and the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission, and special guest, Congressman Derek Kilmer, along with local, state, tribal, federal, non-governmental, and business partners in Puget Sound recovery efforts, to highlight progress and impediments in 2019, prepare for 2020, and discuss important issues with a state/federal nexus. It will also provide partners with opportunities to hear from and have dialogue with members of our Washington Congressional delegation

This event will include a panel on pinniped management, an issue of importance in salmon and orca recovery in Puget Sound. Panelist will present diverse perspectives on this issue.

The purpose of this event is to build on the tradition of Puget Sound Day on the Hill in Washington, DC, which is an annual opportunity to thank, encourage, and hear from members of congress, committee staff, and federal agencies.

You are also invited to join us afterwards at a no-host reception in Tacoma where were can socialize and enjoy beverages and food together. We will confirm the location for the reception on Monday October 7.
