Ross Strategic is looking for a talented individual to join our team of consultants. We work on some of today’s toughest challenges, ranging from climate change to human health. Key Responsibilities

  • Directly support senior staff in delivering projects in accordance with client expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and clients to research, evaluate, document, and communicate complex projects related to natural resource management, ecosystem restoration and watershed scale planning, and/or environmental policy setting.
  • Assist with and independently develop client-focused analyses, documents, and other work products needed to execute projects (e.g., spreadsheets, reports, briefing documents and presentations, project plans, meeting materials and summaries, communication updates, etc.).
  • Assist with and independently develop internal, company-focused documents to support projects (e.g., project proposals, budgets, staff workload projections, and progress reports).
  • Assist with meeting facilitation, and track and capture outcomes of meeting discussions in ways that further client goals and support collaborative processes.
  • Effectively establish rapport and communicate with teams internally and clients externally including tribal, state, and federal officials.
  • Assist with managing and holding project teams accountable for timely completion of project tasks and objectives.

We currently are growing our practice supporting watershed and ecosystem scale planning and evaluation, and candidates with interest or experience in these areas are encouraged to apply.

Necessary Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex and ambiguous tasks.

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders and to function in a politically demanding environment with a strong spirit of outreach, diplomacy and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce work (written documents) to meet client expectations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, and sensitivity in a fast-paced environment with multiple and overlapping tasks.
  • Ability to work in situations requiring self-direction and initiative.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of applicable work experience with a demonstrated interest in environmental policy, natural resource conservation, and/or ecosystem and watershed scale planning and restoration.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and managing multiple projects and using portfolio/project management tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, Trello, Slack, or Basecamp.
  • Ability to use and adapt to changing technology trends, including collaborative software platforms and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills including experience assembling, organizing, and analyzing information, extracting insights, and communicating findings.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with Puget Sound recovery policy and planning including the Puget Sound action agenda or with other large ecosystem restoration efforts.
  • Work with Puget Sound and salmon recovery groups including Local Integrating Organizations and Lead Entities or equivalent groups in other geographies.
  • Work with open standards for conservation and Miradi software.
  • Environmental or growth management planning at the local or tribal scale.
  • Experience using SharePoint for group collaboration and task tracking.
  • Knowledge or experience working with local, state, tribal, or federal agencies.

Compensation

Salary range is $55,000K – $75,000K/year, depending on qualifications and experience. Comprehensive benefit package includes fully funded employee health, dental, and vision insurances; paid time off; 401(k); and public transit pass.
