Speaker/Session Proposals Needed

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the WSRA Conference, we are taking a slightly different approach to the conference sessions. In addition to soliciting presentation from our members, we will also seek out presenters that we may not typically hear from throughout the recycling and waste reduction industry. It is our goal to bring you the best conference content possible!

Please review the suggested tracks for session proposals and remember:

All session proposals are due to WSRA by October 25th!

2020 Tracks for Session Proposals:

Policy/ Legislation:

We are looking for sessions that explore the many exciting legislative efforts and policies being put in place regarding waste reduction. Some ideas include: Bottle Bills, EPR/Product Stewardship, Discussions about the Basel Convention and Implications for US Importers and Exporters, etc.

Circular Economy/ Waste Reduction:

While recycling is literally our middle name, we want to hear more about waste reduction efforts and circular economy projects occurring within the industry. This can be anything from food reduction to moving towards sustainable packaging.

Plastics:

The hot button topic of our industry! Let’s hear from you about the various aspects of plastics. We welcome anything on the topic ranging from the value of plastics (sanitation, economics) to the major concerns they provoke to the unique opportunities emerging from these issues.

Markets:

We would love to hear from any and all markets- established, new, and emerging! If you have knowledge or a perspective on domestic recycling markets, we want to hear from you.

Contamination Reduction in Municipalities:

Washington and the Pacific Northwest’s communities are combating contamination in various ways- ranging from education and outreach efforts to bin tagging to enforcement. We want to hear how your communities are addressing this issue and how those efforts are turning into results.

Please review the speaker criteria for more information and suggested content before submitting a proposal.

If you are or have a speaker meeting this criteria,

please email recycle@wsra.net with your proposal.
