DUTIES:
The mission of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Human Resources (HR) office is to provide excellent client services to employees, supervisors and managers in creating a safe, supportive and respectful work environment through comprehensive HR activities.
This position interprets and applies knowledge and experience when consulting on a wide array of human resource topics including:
- Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA)
- Washington Administrative Code (WAC)
- Agency policies
- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Classification
- Compensation
- Just cause discipline processes
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business or public administration, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field AND two (2) years of progressively responsible HR experience.
- Six (6) years of broad-based professional human resource experience, including consultation with management regarding performance management, employee relations, classification and compensation, and interpretation of CBA’s, policies, rules, and laws.
Please Note: Professional broad-based HR experience as described immediately above can substitute year-for-year for education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with federal and state law, civil service rules, collective bargaining agreements, and systems of the Washington State civil service system, including NeoGov and HRMS (SAP).
- PHR or SPHR certification
- A cover letter describing how you meet the qualifications of this position (generic cover letter will not be accepted)
- A current resume
- Three professional references
