Position Description
(18-25 hours/week, unpaid)
Spring Field Trip/Farm Interns work under the guidance of the Farm Manager to run the spring field trip program, where we will host at least 300 children on the farm through the spring. This includes planning and facilitating field trips with toddlers to 12th graders. Interns will be field trips leaders and also assist in supporting/training youth and community volunteers, who will also lead trips. The position may also include developing lesson plans and improving field trip materials. Depending on the intern’s schedule, there may be opportunities to work on the farm, assisting in spring work tasks, alongside youth and volunteers. Interns will receive training and practical experience working with youth, lesson planning, group facilitation, small scale agriculture, spring farming, volunteer coordination, and program evaluation. Interns may take on additional responsibilities as their schedule permits, though the position’s emphasis will focus on all aspects of the Field Trip program.
Farm grown food is available to interns as it becomes ready, and there are various GRuB trainings offered throughout the season that interns may attend at low or no cost.
