Position Description

(10-20 hrs/week, unpaid)

The Victory Farm (VF) – Special Projects – Intern works with the VF lead farmer to manage the week to week care of the Victory Farm.  Special Projects vary and can include: scheduled watering; care and maintenance of honeybees and hives; site weeding and maintenance; planting and harvesting fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, flowers and herbs as well as assisting in the facilitation of various workshops.

Interns are afforded hands-on experience in beekeeping, urban farming/gardening, and value added products & production and community outreach.

Farm grown food is available to interns as it becomes available, and there are various GRuB trainings offered throughout the season that interns may attend at low or no cost.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Enthusiastic about working with people from diverse backgrounds

• Some knowledge of organic gardening / beekeeping

• Current driver’s license

• Ability to lift 30 pounds

• Comfortable working outdoors rain or shine!
