We’re currently seeking a self-motivated Water Resources Scientist with a desire to grow and develop their role to improve our capacity to serve clients and the natural world. In this position, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work with a team of biologists, environmental planners, and engineers to design and execute aquatic habitat restoration projects, biological studies, environmental assessments, and other natural resources investigations. Project Responsibilities May Include:
  • Stream and river restoration
  • Conducting field surveys for vegetation, wildlife, wildlife habitat, and riverine features in the Pacific Northwest
  • NEPA/SEPA analysis
  • Performing wetland delineations
  • Fisheries studies and fish monitoring
  • Performing wetland delineations
  • ESA compliance analysis and biological assessment preparation
  • Preparing and overseeing development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401
  • Water quality sampling and analysis
  • GIS mapping and data analysis
  • Assisting in business development for biological/environmental work
 
 
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Biology/Water Resources Sciences and at least 3-5 years of professional experience OR Master’s in Biology/Water Resources Sciences and at least 1-3 years of professional experience in environmental science and project management including surveying, monitoring and permitting; water quality, delineation of wetlands, and restoration.
  • Knowledge of local plant, fish and/or wildlife species and their habitat requirements
  • Experience developing mitigation/monitoring plans
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience preparing reports, NEPA and ESA documentation
  • Experience with GIS and Excel
