Part-time (15-20 hour/week) and full-time positions available depending on relevant experience and business needs.  All positions include variable weekend and evening hours.  This role is located at our Courtesy Call Center in our Portland, OR office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Marketing clean energy is core to what we do at 3Degrees and the Outreach Team is a top-notch grassroots marketing and sales partner, contributing to our efforts in fostering the development of the renewable energy market.  As a member of the Courtesy Call Outreach Team, you will be a front line driver of community education and enrollment efforts through inbound and outbound calls.  You will enthusiastically engage your fellow community members about their personal impact on climate change and help them reduce their emissions by educating them on the opportunity to participate in a renewable energy program.  Outreach Associate responsibilities include the following:

  • Increase awareness and participation in utility community solar, green power, and carbon offset programs (e.g., Pacific Power’s Blue Sky renewable energy program) by calling customers, delivering pitches, and discussing program benefits.
  • Perform community outreach via phone call campaigns both locally and to other states.
  • Complete administrative duties following each shift.
  • Adhere to robust customer service and safety standards while staying within script parameters.
  • Attend 1-on-1 and team meetings with manager as required.
  • Actively participate in continuous training.
  • Effectively represent the brand by displaying professionalism and customer service regardless of the challenges faced in call center work.

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

In this role, you will work alongside other members of the Outreach team to achieve program goals focused on Safety, Service, and Sales.  Success factors specific to this position include:

  • Service:

    • Provide a high level of customer service in every interaction, resulting in zero customer complaints per month.

    • Through regular shadowed performance evaluations, demonstrate a high level of program knowledge by effectively answering questions and addressing customer concerns while closely adhering to program script guidelines.

  • Sales:  Meet and maintain an ideal enrollment rate of .75 per fielded hour while conducting Outreach calls.

MUST-HAVES

  • Ability to work 15 to 20  hours per week including evenings and weekends.
  • High level of comfort engaging others by phone.  Prior experience with community outreach, sales, or customer service activities in a call center or phone bank environment preferred.
  • Access to reliable transportation, computer, personal email account, and cell phone.
  • Special consideration given to multilingual candidates.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Starting at an expected $19.75 per hour, including $16.00 base wage + an estimated $3.75/hour in enrollment bonuses.
  • Rapid promotions awarded for stellar performance; top earners make up to $34.00 per hour.
