Responsibilities

As a Horticulturist I with Hines, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day horticultural operations of the Spheres and./or support greenhouse, and other horticultural aspects of our client’s Seattle-based Corporate Headquarters. This includes maintenance of the plant collection, plant propagation, and interior plant installations and exterior landscape.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing general horticulture maintenance in the Support Greenhouse facilities, including watering, planting, weeding, irrigation, pest control, pruning, and plant propagation under direction of Amazon Staff
  • Assisting Amazon staff with horticulture projects such as terrariums, living walls and others
  • Assisting with the cultivation and transfer of plant material to and from The Spheres and other locations
  • Collaborating with Amazon staff on interior and exterior horticulture projects
  • Assisting with plant procurement and acquisitions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • Two or more years of Greenhouse growing experience required
  • Knowledge of tropical plants required
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to interact with employees, visitors and contractors with poise and diplomacy
