The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors (Board). The ED is responsible for implementing the policies adopted by the Board to fulfill the Nisqually Land Trust (NLT) mission and for day-to-day supervision, management, and direction of NLT staff, business, and affairs. The ED is the organization’s chief executive and financial officer, supported by an annual operating budget of approximately $1 million. This is a full-time position. It may require work after normal work hours or on weekends to attend NLT functions.
In collaboration with the Board and staff, the ED develops and implements strategic initiatives to advance the NLT vision and mission. The ED is the public face of the organization and works closely with our partners and communities. The ED leads the fundraising activities of the NLT staff and the Board Development Committee, with a special emphasis on major and planned gifts and support from foundations and the business community. The ED also participates in the landprotection and stewardship programs, overseeing Board and staff development of land acquisition opportunities and stewardship and restoration activities. The ED uses Land Trust Alliance accreditation standards as an additional guide for all NLT leadership and management activities.
