We are looking for a team member who has:
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Adobe Pro.
  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret Public Records Act, RCW 42.56 and RCW 40.14 Preservation and Destruction of Public Records.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Maintain confidentiality of records.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting. Diligence.
  • Sense of humor.
  • Detail oriented without losing site of the big picture.
  • Ability to plan, organize and produce quality assignments within tight time frames. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and to the public.
Who are we looking for?The right candidate has:

  • Advanced working knowledge of RCW 40.14 Preservation and Destruction of Public Records and applicable rules, as well as keeping up-to-date on changes in law that affect agency compliance with records management obligations.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Public Records Act (RCW 42.56) and applicable rules, as well as keeping up-to-date on changes in law that affect agency compliance with public disclosure obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate with co-workers and the public.
  • Strong customer service, communication and analytical skills.
  • Flexible, open to change, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Professional level experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other related applications (Outlook, Word, Access, SharePoint, Adobe) and the ability to create and maintain databases.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of experience in records management or disclosure of public records, or similar position.
  • Knowledge and understanding of RCW 40.14 Preservation and Destruction of Public Records.
  • Washington Public Records Act training.
  • Understanding of DNR policies and procedures.
